About:
The Pollinator Garden at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown, WV, was planted on May 15, 2009, by the NCTC Pollinator Garden Team and co-workers. The garden is in front of the Entry Building, so that everyone that passes through the NCTC will see the garden. The Team visited the site to measure the area and determine local conditions (sunlight, drainage, etc.) early in the spring.

Many of the plants selected are those less preferred by white-tailed deer, which are abundant in the area. The site is temporarily protected with a fence to exclude deer.
